National Congress of American Indians Announces Sovereignty Institute

The National Congress of American Indians (NCAI) has announced the official establishment of the NCAI Sovereignty Institute.
This new entity is mandated with strengthening tribal self-governance by developing usable data and resources.
The Institute will integrate several key departments, including the NCAI's Policy Research Center, Leadership Development and Tribal Programs, and Civic Engagement.
In a statement, NCAI President Fawn Sharp emphasized that the initiative is a direct result of a strategic plan informed by tribal leaders, aimed at shaping the future of tribal governance in the 21st century.
